Can’t Find The Motivation?

It’s totally happened to you before. If you regularly write or blog about something you are really passionate about, you have those days where you just can’t find it. You can’t think of anything compelling enough to write about.

This is one of those days.

BUT thankfully, from every failure, comes a lesson. Today, I started thinking about why I constantly feel a need to inform or annoy people with my blogs.

If you are going to be fit, you have to be fit-minded.You have to fuel your passion in multiple ways. At a subconscious level, I feel as though even if the topics I write on may not interest you, they still resonate with you to some degree. And I promise, after six years in this industry, I have a good bit of insight on the health and fitness industry.

My approach to fitness is holistic. Meaning, if you want to get in shape, you have to live the lifestyle. You have to be aware of how your body works, how to train, and how to motivate yourself. This not only means you have to exercise, but you must read and learn about what’s going on in the industry. Staying up to date on the topic of fitness, ways to fuel your diet, and methods to motivate yourself, helps keep your purpose lively.

You have to plant the seed, and regularly water it. Read about it. And do it!

Here are some easy ways to marinate yourself in this stuff:

1. Keep it Image Oriented (Instagram) 

People like looking at other people. Biologically, this is what we do. So, having said that, follow people who inspire you.  Follow friends who workout, get to know the people from your box or gym on instagram. Follow chefs, and fitness fashion companies. Create a community of images to inspire your fitness journey.

This will keep you accountable and you may even inspire you to try new things. If you are having trouble motivating yourself, or if you are in a rut, immerse yourself in it. Get back on the wagon. The squad is still here!

2. Read about it (Twitter, Facebook, blogs) 

Keep companies like @forbeshealth, @cnnhealth, and @NPRHealthNews on your news feed. Know what’s going on in the industry. Follow blogs and/or weight loss journey stories. Find inspiration through others and it will lead you to inspire others.

3. Immerse Yourself in Activity.

Be more active, sign up for races, train for something. Join a sport or CrossFit gym. You have to get in the routine of having a goal.

You are always working toward something, or else you will have no passion for the task at hand.

I can’t stress enough how important this in order to keep you structured and accountable. Always, always, always have a goal!
