“Joining Thrive and training with Meghan has been the best gym experience I have had. I have lived in various cities and joined many different gyms/clubs, and nothing has compared.
Upon first meeting Meghan, I do have to say, she was more than a little intimidating to look at, as she is in peak condition, and half my age. However, I needed not to have worried, as she immediately made me feel at ease, whilst she performed an assessment of my fitness and capabilities during a 45 minute session.
She asked me to take a metabolism quiz to identify my metabolic type, and how best to create my plate at mealtimes, as well as setting me homework for the days I wasn’t in the gym with her. So, I was more than encouraged by the fact that this wasn’t just about the two training sessions we would have together, during the week. This was an all-encompassing lifestyle change, for every single day of the week.
When I first started working out with Meghan, I was a little frustrated about just how many exercises I couldn’t do correctly. However, she was very patient with me, and very encouraging, while pushing me, all at the same time, and worked these exercises into my routine, until I found my form, and felt the benefits from them.
My journey has only just begun, it has been three months now, and I have to say that she got me to like going to the gym, which was something I could never imagine myself saying. Working out is no longer a chore, but rather, something I actually quite like doing now. There are so many health benefits to it, and as an older woman, I have come to appreciate my health more, and not take it for granted. I believe she may have helped me find my joy!!!
